
An endotracheal tube (ETT) is a flexible tube inserted into the trachea (main airway) through the mouth or nose to maintain an open airway, administer oxygen, anesthetics, or assist breathing with a ventilator.
Function and Use:
Maintains airway patency. The ETT ensures air can flow in and out of the lungs without obstruction, especially in patients who are unconscious or unable to breathe on their own.
